Peninsula Reining Clubs presents “ROCKSLIDE” our annual reining show at the Saanichton Fairgrounds in Victoria, BC. Many classes for Beginners, Non-pros and Open riders. Saddle and Bridle Series for beginners and Non-Pros . NEW- Ranch Riding Class- this year with both a beginner and an open class. Anyone and everyone welcome to try your hand at this fun class. Separate entry forms available for those whom just want to haul in for this class only. Stabling for this class will be on a availability basis Witt’s End Catering will be on site all weekend with delicious food, as well as a Saturday night Chicken and Ribs BBQ. ( $25 pre-paid) On site Silent Auction. Competitor draws daily. 50/50 DEMO- our own Coastal Cowgirls – will be putting on a show for the crowds, you don’t want to miss these girls!!! Explorations in Equine Facilitated Wellness Generation Farms in Nanaimo BC. Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm This is an introduction into the field of Equine Facilitated Wellness and the role of the equine, safety issues when working with equines and humans and other core concepts of EFW. It will feature two days of experiential learning at Generation Farms, combined with a distance learning component. Participants will leave with a general understanding of the EFW field and the next steps if they want to develop their skills further in this field. Explorations in EFW is open to anyone. Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association is offering a 5-day “Take The Reins” clinic for youth and young adults 15 years and up who are either currently working towards becoming a certified instructor/ working on their Equine Canada Rider Levels, or who are seriously considering a career in coaching and want to learn more about the process. Includes: Lesson planning, preparation, and hands-on teaching experience. Correct lunging theory and practice. Stable management topics applicable to each participant’s level. Opportunity to sit a written Equine Canada Rider Level exam upon completion of the course. Introduction to therapeutic riding and para-equestrian sport. Taught by dual-certified Equine Canada and CanTRA coaches, who are qualified to test EC Rider Levels. $200 plus an additional fee for writing an exam.
