Sept 13 - Oct 11
CTRA offers "Take The Reins" 5-week clinic aimed at youth and young adults in the community who are aspiring to become certified instructors, either through Equine Canada or the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association. Participants will gain experience and knowledge of stable management, and lesson preparation and teaching. There will also be an introduction to therapeutic riding, and how it relates to the Equine Canada Rider Level and Certification Program. Minimum age is 15 yrs. Participants must be HCBC members. Clinic runs Tuesdays from 5pm to 7 pm, September 13 to October 11th, 2016. $200 plus $10 CTRA membership. 250-746-1028 or info@ctra.ca

QMS Richard Keller Clinic, QMS Cost $330 for Two days For the past 40 years, Richard has judged and designed courses for prestigious events on both the East and West Coasts of the United States and is considered one of the premier judges of Hunters, Jumpers and Hunt Seat Equitation throughout the U.S. and Canada. He is nationally recognized for the development of many Grand Prix horse and rider combinations; producing numerous medal final contenders (USET, USEF and ASPCA Equitation), World Cup Finals jumper riders and many year-end hunter riders (Young Riders Championships).

QMS Equine First Aid Workshop, QMS Cost $149. Learn injury prevention, pain source identification and saddle fit for spinal health. Learn the proper way to take vital signs, how to weigh your horse without a weight tape, and what your vet needs to know when you call! You will also learn the types of wounds and their treatment. PLUS - colic, choke, collapse, founder, scratches and more.

Supple Equestrian Somatics Level I . Saturday October 22nd 10 am – 12 noon $35 if registered by October 14 , $45 after. To register 250 748-6600 Create comfort and suppleness in your body so you can be more comfortable in and out of the saddle. Improve your riding and decrease pain. If you have pain, tense muscles or injuries Somatic education and movements will help you release tension, gain self control of your muscles and give more effective aids In this classroom workshop you will improve the suppleness and freedom of the subtle body movements required when riding. Somatic education will help you learn to recognize tension and restricted movements. Benefits include decreased tension and pain, increased self-awareness, more freedom of movement, improved posture and self control of muscle movements in relation to riding(aids). The movements can be done at home to help you maintain a relaxed supple body that will improve your riding. Booklet of movements provided with workshop. QMS If Your Horse Could Talk Evening Workshop with Jodine Buydens, QMS Cost $25 6:30pm-8:30pm

QMS If Your Horse Could Talk Clinic with Jodine Buydens, QMS Cost $85 If you're yearning for a deeper connection with horses, or your child who loves them, but haven't known how to go about it, look no further. Jodine Buydens, author of If Your Horse Could Talk, will share with horse lovers, or their parents, how to get the most of their relationship with a horse, including understanding the basics of horse psychology, equine behaviour and equine body language.

QMS Horse Leg Care workshop with Kate Heikkila, QMS Cost $25 12:30pm-3:00pmKate has been grooming showjumpers for the past six years. She has worked for top level riders and barns at shows like Spruce Meadows, Thunderbird & Colorado Horse Park. She will be working with riders on caring for their equine partners at horse shows. Topics covered will be caring for your horse's legs and maintaining soundness and health through proper equine husbandry.

QMS Brian Morton-Journey to the Canadian Equestrian Team Evening Workshop Cost $25 6:30pm-8:30pm

QMS Brian Morton Hunter Jumper Clinic, QMS Cost $330 for two daysBrian Morton grew up in Southlands and has been a passionate rider from a young age. He completed his "A" level of Pony Club and enjoyed all the English disciplines. As an adult, Brian has specialized in Show jumping, and has based himself in Langley, BC. For the past nine years, Brian has developed a training and coaching program named "Equimark", with business partner and current Canadian Chef d'Equipe Mark Laskin. In 2016, Brian rode on the Canadian Equestrian Team in Europe, winning the first qualifying event, and finishing 5th overall with his Team for the Nation's Cup.

QMS Sandra Sokoloski Evening Workshop, QMS Cost $35 6:30pm-8:30pm

QMS Sandra Sokoloski Clinic, QMS Cost $125 E-Sport Physiotherapy is owned and operated by Sandra Sokoloski. Her focus is to treat riders as athletes and facilitate their understanding of relevant human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. Enhancing the riding experience, whether on the trail or in the show ring, is accomplished through equestrian-specific physiotherapy treatment, equestrian fitness training, education sessions and clinics.
