Equifit Fitness - Weekly Sessions start Tuesday, Jan 10th from 6:00 to 7:00 at Nanoose Place Community Centre. Equitfit is a system of exercises designed to enhance the foundation of your riding through awareness of position and improved core strength. Josh Nichol will be coming to Victoria for a three day clinic from. Josh is a horseman with exceptional talent for both training horses and teaching people - a rare combination! The focus of his program is first and foremost the well-being of the horse, where their mental state is taken into account in everything moment and we are always working towards a softer, more balanced and willing partner. It runs from 9am to 5pm with an hour break at noon for lunch. Supple Equestrian Somatics Level I 10 am - 12 noon $35 if reg by Jan 13, $45 after Do you want to improve or change your riding? In this series of three courses you will explore the subtle movements required to ride in a way that you will become aware of any imbalances in muscle tension that could be causing pain or tension in your body as well as translating to your horse. With gentle, effective somatic movements your body will become more supple and you will reawaken control of the subtle movements required for riding. You will be able to apply the natural aids more effectively, your hips will move freely and evenly and your spine will be more limber. Horsemanship / Reining Monthly Series with Wolfgang Winkler. This clinic will focus on the basics and foundation of riding no matter what discipline or saddle you ride in. “One of the most fundamental principles is that the rider must understand the physical and psychological makeup of the horse and the horse must understand the meaning of the riders actions. If the rider is incapable of understanding the horse, the horse clearly cannot understand the rider either” by Kurt Albrecht.
